Goldener Anker in Torgau

Were in the Golden anchor lunch. The ambience is very nice. Friendly service and the food is very good and plentiful. Can only recommend the Golden Anchor. Until next time.

The catering in the house is a disaster. Opening times were not respected. Elevators switched off at 8 p.m. Reception was only occupied spontaneously for a house in this price range a bad picture. I will not recommend this house to anyone.

The pictures on the web and on booking.com did not correspond to our room with the number 301. We had chosen the best hotel in the city and for 100 euros a night I had a slightly higher expectation than hard and old mattresses - at the You could see cleanings in the other rooms with new and much thicker mattresses. The view was just a sloping wall in front of the window! The bathroom door could hardly be closed and then jammed heavily. The shower tray sagged heavily because apparently it had not been relined. The service wrote down the criticism, but couldn't change anything because the hotel was fully booked. It's a shame, but the city was fully worth it.

Centrally located, nice rooms in a historic building. We were greeted very nicely and looked after at breakfast. The bikes were safely in a yard. Everything great and recommendable.

A solid hotel with old town charm in the middle of the historic core of Torgau. The interior looks a bit old, but is clean and well maintained. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a hassle to get pillows without down as a down allergy sufferer, but that seems to be a problem in many German hotels in smaller towns. Last but not least, I would like to highlight the great service, which despite the current SARS-CoV 2 measures and unbearably selfish guests who did not intend to meet them, was always very friendly.

Whenever I stay in Torgau, this hotel is the first choice. It is one of the oldest buildings in the center of the city of Torgau and is not far from all the tourist attractions. The hotel is located directly on the market square and has a secure parking space in the courtyard. Since the beginning of the year, this hotel has been managed by the daughter of the previous operator and I have to say ... she is doing really well. With her friendly and helpful nature, she makes every guest feel like "with friends". But the rest of the staff is also great. The rooms are all exceptionally large and very modern. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and well-kept. It is an old building ... but with a lot of charm and well kept. The restaurant is closed due to the current situation, but is definitely worth a recommendation. The breakfast is very extensive and is prepared with love. All in all definitely worth a visit - whether for a night on a business trip or for a few days of vacation.

najaaaa .... there may be better rooms, but ours was freezing cold and somewhat spartan. medium to lower average. whether it was the off-season, but it all seemed a little unloving.

Hi there. A very nice hotel with very friendly staff. The location is perfect for tourists! Also a nice view if you booked the suite. I grew up in Torgau and almost feel at home in this hotel. :) The breakfast, which you can currently (15.12.2019) for 5 €, is very varied and more than cheap for the price. Great location, nice central. The rooms are really good size and the bathroom is ok. Everything was clean and fresh. The only noteworthy is the somewhat small parking lot. If you arrive late it can be hard to find one.

We went to eat at the hotel and it was really good. The portions were more than adequate and the service was extremely nice and helpful. The restaurant definitely surprised me and I would love to come back here.

Beautiful traditional house with very nice service and great restaurant. Located in the city center. Room very clean and big. Everything from towels to hair dryer to a comfortable mattress and great views of the marketplace.

We spontaneously booked hotel accommodation on site and got a large room with two televisions. All in all good. Bicycles could be stowed away and we had a nice welcome from the boss. However, we were eating somewhere else.

Restaurant visit on 2.6.2018 was very disappointing. Outside you sit very nice with a view of the market square. The waiter had to wait for demand, but then was very nice. The menu very clear. We had twice Schnitzel with potatoes, asparagus and sauce hollandaise ordered. I say: that gets every housewife better. The asparagus was not strong, but hard and the sauce was horrible. The schnitzel was good. There was a classic tomato salad for asparagus.

I had only ever been through Torgau so this was my first time staying there - what a lovely quaint little town. The hotel was right on the market square and very inviting from the outside. Arrived and was greeted by the receptionist/waitress. Booked me in ans showed me where to park my bike - she then told me that the hotel offers a free beer/shandy (well Radler given it is Germany) to every cyclist guest. The room was lovely - spacious, and modern though quite warm. Windows opened directly onto the market square. I kept them open all night and was surprised how quiet the whole place was. Meal in the restaurant (same lady serving!) was nice - in fairness the restaurant seemed a bit posh. Breakfast the next day was the best on my whole trip (a) the sun was shining for the first time (b) you could choose to sit on the sun terrace (instead of the ballroom) (c) there was lots of choice and (d) I met some other cyclists. Overall a very positive experience of the Goldener Anker and Torgau.
